
This summer, we’re doing something a little different.
High school students, preparing to enter their junior or senior year, are invited participate in a new summer program designed to introduce students to university-level art making and campus life. The K-State Creative Arts Training Studio is a 5-day/5-night residency where participants will be able to create, cultivate, and experience a sampling of life as a member of the K-State Art Department.
Create
- Work with our accomplished Art faculty and graduate students
- Create works of art in our professional level studios
Cultivate
- Expand your knowledge in Photography, Painting, and Metalsmithing
- Learn gallery curation and installation methods, with a chance to install the work from the week in our Chapman Gallery.
Experience
- Living and dining in campus residence halls
- Recreational activities to explore a sample of Manhattan living
- University experience with a small cohort of creative-minded peers
$499 - Participant fee covers all art materials, room/board, and campus dining. **Scholarships are available**
Applicants will recieve more information (parking, schedule, what to bring, etc.) closer to event date.
