Bio

Mira Jung is an Assistant Professor of Visual Communication Design at Kansas State University with over ten years of professional experience in graphic design, UX/UI, and digital media. Her teaching focuses on web design, user experience, branding, typography, and visual communication, emphasizing accessibility, responsive design, and mobile-first strategies that reflect current industry standards. In her classes, she integrates Adobe Creative Suite, UX research methodologies, and interactive storytelling to prepare students for real-world design practice.

Her research investigates interactive art and explores how design can create multi-sensory experiences that connect people to complex ideas. She combines technology, data visualization, and user participation to foster meaningful engagement. Her creative practice integrates emerging technologies, such as sensor-based systems and projection mapping, with traditional art and design principles. Recent projects transform static data into interactive installations where audiences engage through touch, motion, and light.

Mira’s work has received multiple recognitions, including the Best of Show Award at the Arts Festival and honors in packaging design competitions in S.Korea. Her research and professional practice deeply inform her teaching, encouraging students to see interaction as both an artistic medium and an educational tool that expands what design can achieve.
