What Art Ambassadors do:

  • Meet with prospective students and give tours of Willard Hall
  • Assist with events including: Open House, Admitted Wildcat Days, and PowerCat Preview
  • Serve as a peer advisor to new Art students
  • Take photographs and assist with social media

Major: BFA Visual Communication Design, BA Spanish

Advice for a new student: Don't be afraid to try something new! Take advantage of the many clubs and on campus events throughout the school year to spark new interests and connect with other students and faculty.

Fun fact: I grew up dancing and was a dance teacher for two years!

Advice for a new student: Try something new that you might not be able to after college and challenge yourself, you might end up loving it.

Fun fact: I love trying new things! For example, I played cymbals for a year in the KSUMB with no prior experience and it was a lot of fun!

Advice for a new student: Try new things and connect with others by getting involved in activities that interest you!

Fun fact: I have 4 sisters and I like to do watercolor in my free time!

Advice for a new student: Embrace every opportunity you have in college! Saying "yes" to new experiences has made an enormous positive impact on my college experience.

Fun fact: I hiked to the peak of the tallest mountain in Colorado last summer. It's called Mt. Elbert, and its elevationn is 14,440'!

Advice for a new student: One piece of advice I would give is to put yourself out there! Don't be afraid to go out and try something even if you are scared.

Fun fact: I love spiders. I think they are so cute.

Advice for a new student: Reach out to the people around you! Whether it's a question for a teacher or for advice from a friend, don't be afraid of asking for help. People at K-State are always willing to help you, so feel free to ask about anything!

Fun fact: I have a twin sister! Her name is Kaylee and she attends Mizzou.

Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in a BA or BFA degree in the Department of Art
  • Completed at least one semester of Art coursework at K-State
  • Enthusiastic about Art and Design and K-State
  • Good communication skills
  • Ready to positively represent the Art Department with your own experiences to a wide variety of people

Commitment:

  • Estimated 10 hours of service over the course of a semester
  • Availability for giving tours during the week and occasional evening/weekend meetings or events
  • 1-year service
