Vietnam Veterans Memorial
Architect: K. Scott Enns of Wichita
Location: Behind Beach Museum
This structure is dedicated to those K-State students who were killed, missingi n action,orserved in the Vietnam War. It was constructed in1989 and dedicated on November 10, 1989.
K. Scott Enns of Wichita was the architect who entered the winning design in 1987 competition and completed construction documents for the memorial.
Governor Mike Hayden was the honorary chairman of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial committe which raised approximately $20,000 to finance construction. Many individuals and companies contributed funds, expertise, labor, materials, equipment, and or general assistance in the construction of memorial. The project was completed during the administration of Dr. Jon Wefald.
