Department of Art

Scholarship for Incoming Freshman and Transfer Students

There are scholarships available for incoming freshmen and transfer students in Department of Art and will be awarded through portfolio review. Awards are competitive and range from $250.00 to $2,500.00 based on merit of the applications and availability of funds. 

Requirements to apply

  • Overall GPA above 2.0

  • Must enroll in KSU department of Art courses for the following fall semester.

  • Plan to major in Art.

Important Dates for Spring 2017 Application

  • February 13: Application Deadline. Late submissions will not be considered.

  • March 10: Notification of award winners

  • March 31 (5:30 – 7:00 pm): Scholarship winners reception

Application Instructions

    1. A digital copy of a recent transcript: PDF

    2. A letter of recommendation from a teacher/professor: PDF

    3. Digital images of your work.

      • You can submit up to 3 works, 1-2 images per work.

      • Images must be JPEG, 1600 – 2000 pixels for the longer side.

      • All images must be combined into one zip file before uploading. You can upload only one file of maximum 16 MB.

      • Name each image file as your last name_number. Add “_detail” for the second image. For example: LastName_1, LastName_1_detail, LastName_2…

      • On the online application, you will be asked to submit information for each work (title, medium, size). The number in the file name must correspond with the order of the submitted information.

      • Name of combined zip file must be your full name.

      •  For video/animation, please upload to Vimeo or YouTube and provide a link.

Award Disbursal

Most awards will be applied in equal parts across the two semesters of the upcoming academic year. (Half disbursed in the upcoming Fall semester, and half in the following Spring)
