What made you choose K-State?
I could see the joy in the students here and knew that it was a school that would help me become the best version of myself.

What is it about art that makes you most happy? My favorite part about art is seeing how every artist can come up with a different creative solution to the same problem.

What has been your favorite art project you've done at K-State? My favorite art project that I have done at K-State was the wire shoe project in 3D Design! I am a dancer and made a large metal ballet show that I still have in my room!

What clubs or activities are you involved in on campus? I am the New Member Director of Kappa Alpha Theta, a K-State Proud Volunteer, dance instructor, KSU in Italy 2017 participant, Art Ambassador and perform in shows by the K-State Dance Department.

Why did you decide to become an Art Ambassador at K-State? I chose to be an art ambassador because I wanted to share my passion of the K-State Art Department with as many people as possible!

Future Plans? I am pursuing a job in design after graduation. Long term, I would love to work for a city in community development supporting art, culture, and local businesses!

What made you choose K-State?
I've wanted to attend Kansas State my whole life! When it came down to actually deciding where I wanted to go, I was restless like most of us are as seniors in high school. But after my first official Kansas State visit, I felt nothing but complete peace and anticipation. I love walking across campus and realizing that as a member of the K-State family, I am part of a story so much bigger than myself.

What is it about art that makes you most happy? Let's be honest – art is often overlooked as less-than, but the more I learn about art, the more I realize we would be lost without it even though we might not be aware of its importance. Art silently sets the tone of culture. Art can represent messages, emotions, and creation in a way that nothing else can. The messages in art are unmeasurable in power and aesthetic beauty is priceless in the way it can develop inviting spaces and bring rest to a mind.

What has been your favorite art project you've done at K-State? My favorite studio I've taken so far is 2D Design. It introduced me to the programs I'll be using for the remainder of my career (hello InDesign and Illustrator!), challenged me to take the first hard steps of figuring out who I am as a graphic artist, and taught me the inner workings of a composition that helps me look at every piece of art differently than I would have before.

What clubs or activities are you involved in on campus? Other than being an Art Ambassador, I work at the Rec on campus, attend Christian Challenge, and am involved at The Well MHK.

Why did you decide to become an Art Ambassador at K-State? I wanted to give a behind-the-scenes perspective of what it is like to be an art student to those searching for the program that will be right for them, to help develop our awesome Instagram, and to continue building my relationships within the art department.

Future Plans? No matter where life takes me, I want to always be writing (books! Articles! Captions!) and creating on a daily basis. The details of that are both thrilling and blurry in this season of life, but the hope is that I become an author and graphic designer/social media manager for a life-giving business or ministry.

What made you choose K-State?
K-State made me feel instantly at ease and equally accepted. I knew that I didn't need to be anyone other than myself to be a part of this community. And when you're right out of high school as a scared 17-year-old, I wasn't expecting to feel that anywhere, let alone so quickly.

What is it about art that makes you most happy? I find that the most fulfilling part of art-making is developing your own individual process that feels equally familiar and terrifying. I love how it can offer a sense of home and a sense of wilderness.

What has been your favorite art studio you've taken at K-State? Drawing 1. It is one of the first foundational courses I took and it showed me that art-making truly is a learned process with logical observation, recording and interpreting. I had no "natural artistic talent" before deciding to be am art major so it proved to me that a passion is about personal drive to practice and hunger for discover.

What clubs or activities are you involved in on campus? Painting and Drawing Society, Watercolor Club, Art Ambassador and Youth Honors Academy Instructor at Manhattan Art Center.

Why did you decide to become an Art Ambassador at K-State? It was crucial for me to interact with current students when I was about to undertake such a large transition in my life. Being able to connect with students offered me the assurance I needed that not only would I be OK but I had the potential to find personal success. I hope to give the same type of positive feelings as an art ambassador!

Future Plans? The only thing I know for sure is that I will be painting every single day!

What made you choose K-State?
I chose K-State because it was close to home, and I loved the atmosphere of the ceramics department here.

What is it about art that makes you most happy? The thing about art that makes me the happiest is the way that it brings people together, whether you're the maker or the audience it brings people together.

What has been your favorite art studio you've taken at K-State? My favorite studio is definitely ceramics because clay is my all-time favorite medium.

What clubs or activities are you involved in on campus? As far as on campus activities, I am currently involved in reviving the K-State Clay group (which is not the official name because we are still deciding on a name) and being an Art Ambassador.

Why did you decide to become an Art Ambassador at K-State? I chose to be an art ambassador because I wanted to be more involved in the Art Department and helping to create a bigger community of artists here.

Future Plans? In the future, I plan to teach ceramics at a college level.

What made you choose K-State?
I chose K-State because my parents and grandparents went to school here! Also, I loved how kind everyone was here.

What is it about art that makes you most happy? The thing about art that makes me the happiest is the fact that we get to create! That's so cool. Also, as a graphic designer I think it's awesome that with every new project I get to learn about so many new things.

What has been your favorite art project you've done at K-State? This is a hard question!! I'd have to say it's a tie between Figure Drawing and Printmaking. Figure Drawing was INCREDIBLE and I learned so much. Printmaking was just super, super fun.

What clubs or activities are you involved in on or off campus? I work as a graphic designer for K-State Housing and Dining Marketing department. I also work in the nursery at my church (Cuddling babies is the best stress reliever. It's wonderful!) Also, I am an Art Ambassador!

Why did you decide to become an Art Ambassador at K-State? I love art! I love people! I like bringing the two together.

Future Plans? I'd love to work for a small creative studio where I can be a designer and an illustrator. If they had an office dog, that would be even better! But as long as I'm working with kind and passionate people, I'd be happy!

What made you choose K-State? I chose K-State because of the family atmosphere and all the academic knowledge the K-State faculty can offer while progressing toward a career.

What is it about art that makes you most happy? I love art because it has the power to influence the audience just based on its appearance and can evoke certain emotions. I find that beautiful!

What has been your favorite art studio you've taken at K-State? One of my favorite studios I have taken so far has been 2D Design because of the exploration of learning how to transfer a tangible copy of work into the computer and work off of it to create something abstract.

What clubs or activities are you involved in on campus? Here at K-State I'm involved in the Love Your Melon Campus Crew, Academic Mentoring Program, Pi Beta Phi Sorority, Manhappin' Magazine and of course being an Art Ambassador.

Why did you decide to become an Art Ambassador at K-State? I chose to apply to be an Art Ambassador because I wanted to impact prospective students who are looking to major or minor in art.

Future Plans? My future plans for my career are to design company logos and packing for their products.
