Welcome to the Art Department at K-State!

I will be your advisor throughout your time as an Art major and I look forward to getting to know you. I am a painter (you can see my work on my website: (www.marrinrobinson.com) and have taught as an Associate Professor of Art at a number of colleges in the States and abroad ranging from The Colorado College to The American University in Cairo, Egypt. I also had a Fulbright grant to paint for a year in Portugal and was Artist in Residence at The American College of Greece.

I really enjoy advising at K-State and helping students progress through the program and on to a career in Art. I’ll see all of you in the Art 105 class where various faculty come to present their particular Concentrations and where I’ll ask you to do interviews with professional artists in the fields that interest you.

But also feel free to drop by my office and tell me how things are going! Beginning and end of the semesters you do not need an appointment. In the middle of the semester I am doing back to back individual advising meetings so during this time it is best to send me an e-mail with your question or to request an appointment.  Be sure to check out the FAQ section for future students and current students.

You can use artadvising@k-state.edu

Don’t forget to sign up in the Art Office (111 Willard) for your advising appointment, about one month into the semester. Make sure you choose a date before the enrollment date listed in your iSIS Student Center.

Have a wonderful and productive semester!

Marrin
